Pain with hard copy pictures/Is shoebox the right place for your memories?

Even though I’m up to date with modern technology and to some extent pretty keen on it I do however still keep my most treasured possessions in a shoebox. Well, lately I have replaced it with IKEA box, just to keep up with the latest interior design trends.

Quite some time ago I realized that the box is no longer big enough for my quickly expanding photo collection. Unfortunately in this era of digital photography, that enables even the most unskilled photographers to take breathtaking pictures, a shoebox is no longer an option. In the times of analog cameras, one maybe used a film or two per holiday, as for today you can hardly get away with less than 10 times that much?! And that is only the beginning. Selecting a few out of 48 snapshots, for that all time favorites selection of yours, is not hard but out of 500!? It takes hours… And after all that hard work, they still have to be printed and placed in an album in a presentable fashion. With all that in mind I guess it is safe to say that the best way to store and organize your digital photos, is simply by letting them be. Keep them on a computer or other storing devices and when you really feel up to it, print a few for an album or to put in a frame. Whether you’ll ever end up showing any of them to friends and relativesi s yet another story:) But then again, how often did you drag that old shoebox out of the closet?

There is also another option. Over the years I’ve come to realize that the most convenient and simple way to share photos, is through short movies or clips. With a huge variety of available software at your fingertips, you can quite easily create a video masterpiece within minutes. Select photos, add music that most fits the atmosphere, press create and voila - brand new movie, featuring you or your friends, ready to share in the comfort of your own living room or through social networks such as Facebook and Twitter.

So what are you/we waiting for?

It’s about time we came to terms with the fact, that for storing all of our memories, there is simply just no box big enough….

Go Analog! Analogno je zakon!

V Afriki sem se navdusila za analogne fotoaparate. Zopet sem izkusila čar tega, da komaj cakas kdaj bodo slike razvite, da vidis, ce je sploh kaj uspelo. In potem, ko ze pozabis kaj si sploh slikal.....voila....cudovite slike:) Prilagam nekaj primerkov:) 

Fran, my roommate in Africa, (re)introduced me to analog photography. The joy of not knowing weather the snapshot you just took will be any good or not, is exhilarating. The anticipation grows as the film is getting towards the end. One just can't wait to get it developed. Then there comes the waiting part, followed by pure kid like curiosity and joy once you get the envelope.... here are some examples of the ones that came out great:)

To je to! Domiselna inovativnost z roko v roki z recikliranjem stare krame, ki tako ali tako samo klavrno lezi naokoli. Rešimo pred pozabo vse uporabne stvari, napnimo možgane in pustimo naši ustvarjalnosti prosto pot.

Nov družinski zakonik...

Namesto stališča le slika....

Moram pa priznati, da mi je bila najbolj všeč izjava neke prijateljice: " Jaz bom glasovala proti zakoniku, ker je še premalo liberalen."

Prvo pometi pred domačim pragom....

No, pri meni je šlo sicer obratno, a vseeno...

Po vrnitvi iz Afrike in tamkajšnjim prostovoljnim delom z malimi nadobudneži predvsem na področju higiene se mi je utrnila ideja, da bi nekaj podobnega bilo pametno narediti tudi na domačih tleh. Odločila sem se pripraviti delavnico na to temo za otroke pod okriljem Človekoljubnega dobrodelnega Društva Up z Jesenic. 

Vsa stvar je bila tokrat še lažja, saj ni bilo potrebno prevajanje:) Imeli smo se super. Otroci so se nekaj malega naučili o vodi, primernem ravnanju z njo in o njeni pomembni vlogi v vsakdanjem življenju in predvsem pri higiene. Spoznali so se z mikrobi in izdelali svoje imaginarne patogene, videli kako se nepridipravi širijo in kako jim lahko to preprečimo:)

 

Naslednje "žrtve" tega zabavno izobraževalnega programa so bili otroci na OŠ Franca Rozmana - Staneta... Zopet zgodba o uspeho...oziroma o obilici zabave, smeha in uporabnih informacij...

Pa sem le enkrat še ujela narcise na pobočjih Golice in okoliških vrhov:) Čudovito!

Travniki so vsepovprek posejani s temi majhnimi belimi cvetlicam ob pogledu na katere se ti zazdi, da se prav zares zavedajo svoje lepote in da jim ime ne dela prav nobene krivice...narciske male:)

 

Softball 2010

Leto 2010 je zopet minilo v znamenju Softballa pa ceprav sem se puskusala upirati na vse pretege. Zopet 3 evropska prvenstva, veliko  smeha, nekaj dobre igre, fenomenalnih akcij in predvsem dobre druzbe. Seveda v Slovenskem softballu ne gre brez zdrah...tako da smo imeli zdravo mero tudi tega...ampak pustmo to:)

Ker se pol stvari ne spomnim vec prilagam samo nekaj utrinkov:)
